This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Checkmate application (the "App") and related services.

We do not run third-party advertising in the App, and we do not sell your personal information.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Password (stored and managed securely through Firebase Authentication)

Social Login Information

If you choose to sign in using a third-party provider, we may receive information from that provider, such as your name, email, and a unique account identifier. We currently support social login through:

  • Google
  • Apple
  • Facebook

The information we receive depends on the provider and your privacy settings with that provider.

Usage & Device Information

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the App, such as device type, app version, and basic diagnostic and crash information.

Services We Use (Firebase)

We use Firebase services to provide core functionality such as authentication, app reliability, and security. Firebase is a platform provided by Google. Depending on the features enabled in the App, Firebase may process certain information on our behalf (for example, authentication tokens and diagnostic events).

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and allow you to sign in.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the App's features and performance.

Ads & Selling Data

We do not run third-party ads in Checkmate.

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Service providers: such as Firebase, to help operate and secure the App.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the App.
  • Business changes: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Checkmate is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Reporting Accounts & Safety

Any account can be reported via our Contact Us page or by emailing contact@dinecheckmate.com.

We review reports and will take action as appropriate. If needed, we will immediately take action and remove accounts that violate our rules, harm others, or otherwise present safety concerns.

Your Choices

  • Account access: You can update certain account details in the App (where available).
  • Social logins: You can disconnect or manage permissions from your Google/Apple/Facebook account settings.
  • Support requests: You may contact us to request help with account issues.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we make changes.
